romanticizing spring weather + girlfriend visit!!
yes i know it's not spring yet. no i do not care. it was above freezing the other day, and i genuinely felt like a bear coming out of hibernation. i went downtown with aiyana to a thrift market, we got boba together, and then i dropped her off at her class and headed home - except i actually got off the bus like 15 stops before i was supposed to and took a two hour walk home, stopping at pretty much every single store. it was insane and made my feet hurt but i had a surprisingly good time!!
the first store i stopped at - records, books, comics, cds, cassette tapes, and just a generally great vibe. i ended up not getting anything (it took incredible self-restraint), but i looked around for probably close to half an hour and had to talk myself out of an abba record.
the obligatory aesthetic converse picture
one of the other stores - a flower shop! i ended up stopping in at least two of these, but this one was the nicest. it almost looked like a greenhouse from the inside, despite looking pretty normal from the front. i had to restrain myself again here, and almost bought a succulent but decided against it. i already have a plant and i'm not looking to kill another one in the near future - although my potted plant death rate is decreasing as i get older! so maybe it would've stood a chance.
this specific combo of flags really spoke to me.
and then!! on tuesday, my girlfriend informed me that she was gonna be coming over on wednesday. obviously i said "yes please, i'll come pick you up from the bus station". the issue is that the buses from vermont to montreal only run at the strangest possible hours (either late as hell (we're talking crossing over into early morning) or early as hell). so i was on the phone with mo for hours that night while she got on the bus, i didn't sleep, and then went to pick her up downtown at 7 am. rest assured we napped for a good four hours before my first class (this is our first ever picture together, by the way!)
we picked a random restaurant for dinner that night because it had butter chicken and little did we know it was the BEST INDIAN RESTAURANT EVER. like seriously. go to express indian restaurant it's a life-changing experience and they feed you enough food for a small army (we took like half of it home and then ate leftovers for breakfast the next day). the naan? slaps. the butter chicken? slaps. trust me on this one.
me making mo do this pose that she did once earlier this year and i've been mocking ever since i saw a picture of it (i literally hit this pose like at least four times a day) (often in a row) (she is sick of me). this is also the day where we started pretty much exclusively wearing each other's clothes (in true lesbian fashion). yes those are my pants, my julien baker shirt, my under armor compression shirt, and my letterman jacket. highly recommend getting a girlfriend the same size as you!
me doing the aforementioned pose (i think i'm hilarious, clearly). and yes, that is mo's jacket AND her pants. pretty sure i'm wearing her t-shirt under there too. and most of those rings are hers. necklaces too probably.
the resemblance is uncanny. you cant see it in this picture but even the undercuts matched.
anyways! we're now caught up to present day, and it only took me a couple of hours (record time for me to get anything done in). it is, of course, 2:32 am as i'm writing this, but that's irrelevant.

I don’t quite know how to feel about that one pose in particular…
ReplyDeletefavorite pose ever tbh!!
