procrastination in burlington

yes, i'm writing this post late as hell. procrastination goes crazyyyyy and no i don't care. anyway disclaimer: this happened in march, not may. but i digress.

school is getting busy in preparation for finals, but who am i if not too chill for my own good, so we're off to burlington to see my girlfriend!!!

the buses only go at the absolute worst times of night (because of course), so i arrived in vermont around 2:30 am. it was a little sketchy downtown, but i stumbled upon church street (or, as i described it to my girlfriend, "this cutesy ass street with the fairy light trees" and waited there for my middle of the night uber to the st mikes dorms.

the cutesy ass street in question.

first on the agenda for the weekend was friday knight dry, an event that LJ was helping to run. so i got to spend the evening trailing along after her and trying to be helpful however i could, which was actually pretty fun. it was more of an endless string of side quests, which you know i love. plus, we got mcdonalds!!!

next on the agenda was a trip to crow bookshop, one of LJ's favorite places in burlington. we walked around, bought a book on gay phrases (along with some other books as well - we couldn't leave with just one, of course) that ended up being an incredible purchase, and just generally hung out (for at least an hour).

us post-bookstore, headed to get food!!

girlfriend pictures are mandatory of course

never mind she's sick of me

food was SO good though (my mac n cheese,
curry fries as an appetizer, and LJ's plate of curry)

this mac n cheese SLAPPED it was so good.
10/10 recommend.

miss LJ, refusing to let me get a good picture
of her while she laughs 😒

and then after the restaurant, it's party time!!! we hit up some of the townhouses around campus, had some beer (reluctantly - that shit is nastyyyy), and then headed back to LJ's room around 1 am.

getting ready in the dorm bathrooms (hitting our favorite pose, of course)

LJ joined in!

all ready!!

had to include these two because we're so cute guys

me in the 208 bathroom (in front of the weed city sign, of course).

we spent the next day in the dorm, sleeping and hanging out and, in the evening, playing a game we discovered through the aforementioned gay book we bought earlier - caper in the castro. it was made by a lesbian in 1989, and you play as a detective named tracker mcdyke (a name that we now reference at LEAST three times a week) who is searching for her missing drag queen friend, tessy lafemme. suffice it to say, we had a BLAST.

excited to play!!

me when i see my girlfriend

one of my favorite pictures of us <3

the next day was my last in vermont, so it was a little bittersweet. we hit up some stores downtown, and ended up thrifting a few clothes and also spotting these cows that are SO us (obviously, i had to take a picture).

you can tell who's who and everything lol

did i cry on the way home and also in my dorm after i got back? yep. was i busy as hell because i got no homework done? of course. worth it though. 100000000000000000/10 experience, would do again.
